Jun 08 True Day Break.
Dusklight was retreating across the horizon finally, and the sky was beginning to brighten all around the Harkronis. Small shafts of sunlight were starting to filter in through the canopy for the Fell Light Forest. It was in this light that caught Haedyn’s form as he strode out to greet the day. He was wearing his normal heavy leather breeches, and a matching harness vest over a white tank. Heavy boots clunked lightly along the game trail the Lantian man was following. His attire named him as a Blade Class rider, for only they really needed the protection from their own bond mate’s scales.
Dapples of sunlight flittered across his skin and deep sable brown black hair while golden eyes and tattoo seemed to reflect the light back and gave of a glow of their own. His mind was lost in thought organizing the past few days event’s while his body moved on autopilot to an old spot he knew just a few clicks into the Fell Forest. He’d needed to get outside of the hull today and stretch his muscles; having spent the last two days locked indoors discussing, strategizing and practically interrogating their Captain, he was ready for some R&R.
Along his back he carried a quick release holstering system that currently held in locked position, a gigantic bastard styled broad sword. It’s unique handle and hooked decorative blade seemed only a show item, luckily for Haedyn though, it was an item he like to Show off, up close and personal styled. This sword was called the Bastard Fang, which fit Haedyn well. But the sword also held many fun tricks just as it’s master and Haedyn was always honing his skills, so to him this little ‘Outting’ was considered R&R to him.
Doevis had spent the last couple of days snapping at Aerdis between his patrols, lounging in the sun, and regaining his energy levels by picking off herd beasts from the forest. Infact as Haedyn stepped into the clearing of his secret spot he was greeted by the heavy crunches and snaps of a carcass Doevis was dining on. Other than a passing glance of his slit eyes Doevis gave his companion little other notice. Haedyn couldn’t quite tell what it was he was eating but he only pressed that he hoped it wasn’t any more Sagideer, ~They're going to make you fat~ He warned before walking into the center of the clearing.
He lifted both arms to either side and then swept them up above his head as his head rolled on the axis of his spine and issued a couple of pops in protest. Haedyn then bounced on the ball of his feet to loosen his calves. Then lifting his left hand behind his head, he thumbed the release catch and clasped the handle of his sword as it practically fell into his hand. He softened the blade’s descent before changing it’s course in an upward arch above his head then down to his left side. His right hand coming to rest on the end of the pommel his palm a firm driving force to the swords positioning now.
Haedyn took a half step to the right and opened his stance and distributed his weight evenly amongst his two feet. His thick jagged soles tore into the soft soil of the clearing. Around him were three larger stones perfect for balancing and practicing different strikes. Haedyn however wanted to deal some damage.
As he took his first few steps and paired sweeps with the blade, he was completely controlled. But as his training progressed his swings and movements became uncontrolled and deadly. Haedyn wasn’t a fine tuned instrument that was clear to anyone who was watching his show. No this man was a berserker, the only time he understood control was when battling from afar. The only thing that saved him half the time in battle was his powerful attacks and his chess board mind.
With this ability Haedyn was normally able to keep an eye on all 360 degrees of his surroundings, but today he let his mind drift away as he contemplated the things Haelvis, and Tyr had discussed to him. They were heading towards Brovkest, a sludgy place to start the brand new humans, but they had to start somewhere. Brovkest should be safe enough he’d considered the city, the peoples and the lands before agreeing they should see to this distress call. What that call had all entailed was still concerning to him, they were not being clear in the code but it had sounded like Resources Blooded? He was still trying to decipher that mess. And another thing that was still worrying him, was Sceltyr’s anxious behavior and feelings of doom he got whenever he was around her.
This and many other reasons was why he’d made this short journey out into the beautiful forest. They would be reaching Brovkest in just five short days. He needed to prepare he was starting to pick up on Tyr’s paranoia he thought, but still it never hurt to train a little bit more.
Doevis was under the impression that this was just a normal training session for his bond mate though. And so he was now cleaning his scales and picking the last morsels of the deer from his claws and the ground before him. Grumbling he lifted his snout and sniffed, a scent caught his attention and a grumble rumbled to get Haedyn’s attention. He slid to a stop his sword inches from the ground pulling his muscles to ripple his shoulders and strained his stance a bit. His gold eyes flicked up to peek through sable brown hair at the approaching suspects. Who was it now.

( WORDS ) 1511 ( TAGGED ) Haedyn ( MUSE ) Here A silhouette stood upon the edge of the Harkronis: A-5 Wind taking a moment to blow through choppy ebony tresses. A blank frozen blue stare looked upon the horizon as this woman continued to look out upon the landscape. Light was just peeking, beginning to show itself, beyond the horizon. Normally at this time the commander would not allow anyone off the ship. They had hours to train off ship otherwise it was all in the training hall. She already felt like prisoner to this fate... "Undine... Tell me something... Tell me who is the loneliest of all?" She said in a quiet voice as if not to frighten the silence that had surrounded them on this secluded part of the ship. Her drak simply gave a soft purring chip in confusion. To that a smile curled upon the woman's lips. Something rare indeed. She had a drak now, she had a friend in Azi... Yet for some reason she still felt an emptiness she could not explain. Undine looked at her with confusion and as soon as the ironic smile was upon Selene's lips it was gone.
With the light filtering through the trees she felt her blood pump through her veins. Damn it all she was not going to be trapped like some zoo animal. To train like some private when she had already worked her way up the ranks. Damn it all she might be a human and these were a superior race but she was not a novice. She knew there were likely things hiding in the shadows but what better time than now without other Cadet's who were just that to hold ehr back? Without Azi to need to protect if the need arose? With that in mind she did an aerobic jump to the ground. A jump that was half broken with the help of Undine's co-op. With a final flip she landed on her feet in a kneeling position with a soft thump. She looked around to see if it had brought her any unwanted attention. After a moment it seemed she was in the clear. With a finger to her mouth she silently started to walk towards the direction the wind took her. She heard noises in this direction an a scent that was familiar but not familiar enough to place.
After a few steps she already felt freedom. Taking a few breaths with her eyes closed. Suddenly she looked at Undine and tilted her head back towards the drak who had been walking behind her. "Race you..." Undine gave a tiny chirp at that but before it could be taken as a yes or no Undine watched in surprise as her bondmate took off. Muscles rippling under tight black clothes. Undine after a moment took off after her bondmmate. One would not call this training per say but once in awhile Selene would jump over Undine when she took to flying and would swoop under the woman. It was almost as if it was a childish training yet aggressive version of leap frog. This was a side Selene never let others see. Not that it was exactly playful but it was times like this that she felt completely free and felt like she did not need to keep her guard up and could let the more positive wolf genetic perks come out.
If she got in trouble for it for some reason it would be completely worth it. Shadows danced around her as did the dapples of sunlight that struggled to peek through the lines of trees over the horizon. Not yet mature enough to make a large effect on the surroundings. Suddenly getting an idea Selene reached for her gun Undine noticed as Selene force once sat on her. Not used to the weight it took her a second to actually not crash to the ground. Recovering she peeked up and saw the gun. Selene aimed and with a flash returned to the game at hand only this time with Undine aimed at the trees. Using aether to shoot at targets. Normally such a weapon would make noise but with it's upgrade it was silent as a wolf during a hunt and all the noise it made was ice smashing into trees as Undine did not make the ice as hard as it could be to avoid destruction to the trees. Running at such a speed while avoid tripping over her drak was giving her the rush she needed that was not the one that gave her that caged feeling. She forgot how this felt.
She wondered if Azi would ever be up for something like this. Perhaps it was to fast paced for the sluggish girl but she was her shadow so perhaps sometime she would be up to it. Currently she had been in the dorm sleeping. Likely from all the craziness of the people last night. She was like her she had her rituals now and most of the time they were together but sometimes they took times to be alone. She liked would wake up, freak some of the Cadet's out, and go into a hide hole she found to take another nap after eating something. Then they would likely hang out for the day before sleeping again and then waking up. Right now though they were doing their own thing which was only healthy on some level even if on some level none of this was exactly healthy. With another shot she felt her thoughts melt into concentration. The best thing about Azi was despite her slight insanities which everyone had to a degree, Azi could hold her own. Even if Selene still felt protective towards the girl. Which meant Selene could have moments like this.
Selene slowed to a halt as she noticed a clearing. In her rush she forgot she had gone this direction due to the scent of someone familiar. Now it was just up ahead in this clearing. Her ears twitched slightly as the sound of air being sliced. Her breath coming in huffs and pants from running around. Undine coming to land next to her peeked but only from bonding did she come to understand the exact reason for stopping. Like a wolf on the hunt she walked forward towards the clearing's beginning. She noticed her commander. His drak also seemed to be here which only made sense. She kept to the shadows of the trees trying to figure out just what he was doing. She thought he was suppose to be discussing important things with the other commander? In a way the way he moved his blade was hypnotic in a way. She was used to guns and daggers. Small and silent weapons for assassinations. Quick weapons used to get the job done as fast and silent as possible.
She watched as the swings became less practice like and seemed less uncontrolled and deadly. In a way one might consider him just as berserked as she was... Well at least he probably remembered when he did things. A perk she lacked. In fact seeing he remained calm he probably had intelligence unlike most beserkers. A rarity indeed. Yet here she was more or less being a peeping tom. That made a look of disgust roll across her face when she took a moment to realize what she was doing. Well at least she was able to place his and his drak's scent... Although part of her was not sure she was exactly happy about that. It seemed in her own preoccupation she had forgotten herself and lost her wolf in the hunt letting the human in her take over for a moment. The wind betrayed her letting her scent be detected by Haedyn's drak. Normally she would have moved to avoid the 'prey' detecting her but she was to busy being disgusted by her behavior.
Suddenly at the growling she knew all to well and the nudge from Undine with a slightly nervous quiet chirp she noticed that they had been discovered. Well shit... This was going to be difficult to explain. She was probably going to get her ass chewed out and then put in a cage for real... Well no point in hiding it anymore. With a grumble of her own she stepped from the trees and their shadows and came into the light of the clearing. Undine coming with her nervously. She noticed golden eyes peeking through sable brown hair. Undine not sure what to do decided the best tactic was to use the tactic that always worked to throw everyone off. Act like an idiot. So she moved over towards Haedyn and with a quick snake like motion crawled up him like a pole before peeking over his head with a goofy look. A look of complete horror crossed Selene's face before she could not control her impulse to slap her face with her hand and shake lightly in frustration. What part of coming out to show yourself meant to act like an idiot?!

Jun 08 True Day Break.
Haedyn waited in silence knowing whomever was out there knew he knew of their presence as Doevis rumbled deeper towards the bushes. The beastly Blade Class had just finished a meal and was in no mood for games. But the pair were rewarded as Selene and Undine nervously stepped forward. Haedyn’s golden eyes flicked across Selene as he realized she was one of his own. He lowered the sword from the reverse hold he had on it and let the hooked end of the sword fall into the soil with a heavy slice. Wedging the sword upwards he rest a hand awkwardly upon the pommel as his free hand came up to sweep the choppy lengths of his hair away from his face.
Undine had given a small chirp and then had suddenly scuttled over to Haedyn and was climbing him in a flash. This made the tall man wobble on his feet and hold his hands out to either side. “Well hello to you too Undine. Good morning Cadet Selene” Always with the titles, he was a creature of habit. As he regained his balance he held onto the mage’s long whip tail as it curled about his body to keep the mage in place. He noticed Selene’s horrified look and laughed “Don’t worry I’ve had worse,” He chuckled and patted Undine’s tail. “I had to help with the Hatchery once, night mare when a set of triplet shield babies all go unclaimed. Then you have to tend to them man that was a nightmare” He said his voice stumbled a bit he seemed to be trying to break the Ice that was Selene’s composure normally.
Doevis grumbled and stood on his four legs and came over to give Selene a good sniff before turning his attention to the small mage and clomped his snout together to get her attention, then puffed a plume of dark smoke about the small water Drak. He wasn’t angered by her, but more of being the adult in the situation and scolding the youngling for mis behaving, it was rude to touch another Drak’s companion. Some draks would give a sharp snip to anyone who trespassed normally. But if Doevis were to do that to the small Mage she would be but a few feathers left. So he scolded her and grumbled. His wings opening and his front half pushing up into that classic bear stance the Blade’s were know to battle with their forelegs and wing talons along with their teeth and horns when on the ground. His wings fully extended in a stretching manner before he dropped back down and caused a slight tremor to run through the ground.
His head turned to look at Selene again as Haedyn started to shuffle Undine’s snake like grasp of his body away and off of his shoulders. Once loosening her grip he shrugged the rest of the way out of her and toppled her to the ground being sure she didn’t fall near his sword. “She’s a funny one though isn’t she.” He said looked back to her he realized it was rather early still, most of the Cadet’s would still be asleep. He also realized with a quick glance about that the small Azqua was not shadowing the older girl for once.
Not that Azqua scared him, but the girl did have a way with setting people on edge. Maybe it was in part the way she shadowed Selene like a passive phantom, it holding both shear terror and mystery all in the same moment. But out of the two of them Haedyn was glad it was Selene who’d stumbled upon him. His survey of the girl also showed him that she was carrying her weapon of choice. A smirk tugged his lips he realized she must be training as well.
“It’s a good morning to train don’t you think?” He asked picking his sword up from the earth and swinging it back up and over his shoulder unto it slammed into the locking holster on his back. The large sword barely caused him to shift forward. He smiled at Selene waiting for a response from her hoping to break the ice while Doevis had lowered his snout down onto the water mage and was thoroughly snuffling her.

( WORDS ) 1006 ( TAGGED ) Haedyn ( MUSE ) Here Emotions was not something Selene was known for but after opening up in her slight training, if you could call it that, she had not be able to contain the horror that she felt at her drak going back to her default 'setting' of idiot to in a way defend her. She had no idea where the drak got the idea that was a good idea but it was not from her. She had tried to make it clear she did not want that but perhaps from all the dreams they shared stealth somehow got into the drak's mind and this was her childish idea of stealth and being sneaky. She was just a hatchling after all... But it was nothing like having a drak that already stuck out like a sore thumb act like a complete moron to make you stick out. When you wanted to be alone and already tried hard to keep up a barrier... Yet here she was climbing up her commander and acting like everything was hunky dory...
Clearly Haedyn himself was not expecting it as he wobbled on his feet and had to hold his hands out to keep his balance. He seemed not to mind the intense greeting if you will from her drak. As he said hello to the glow wormy mage before he also greeted her a good morning. She felt herself relax a little. At least she was not going to get her ass chewed out but now, not that she particularly cared for images, had hers ruined... Just cause someone did not care for images did not mean they wanted a horrible one. He seemed to take it in all good humor giving a laugh and told a story as he patted Undine's tail. She could not image having to babysit triplet shield babies. Although she personally had not dealt with shields up close so she was not sure how bad they were as a group of draks but three of any could not have been easy. Without realizing it she found herself relaxing a little more. For some reason she could not exactly explain it. Maybe it was because despite his appearance he was not an idiotic macho man and had a head on his shoulders. A sense of humor? Military background? Knew how to approach her despite her feral behavior? Who knew.
While Haedyn seemed perfectly fine with Undine's odd behavior Doevis on the other hand did not seem to be to pleased. He gave her a good sniff which she gave a small one in return... Genetics were a bitch... Then it was to her mage. It seemed from the body language that he was trying to teach Undine manners which if she couldn't in the back of her head she was praying that maybe an older drak could? Oh god... That would be so helpful... Undine who looked at Doevis who seemed to be scolding her gave a gurling like noise before almost giving a pout like expression. She was not afraid of him despite the slight tremor that ran through the ground as he basically explained manners to her. She liked this man. He was tall and while she could fly she could be lazy and look over his shoulder. Plus she did good right? No one was angry? Granted she did not understand that perhaps no one would have been in trouble in the first place. The freshminded drak had no clue she was pretty much just causing more trouble.
She did not struggled as Haedyn more or less shrugged her off. She just fell to the ground and gave a clueless look as to why she was now on the ground when she was perfectly comfortable on Haedyn. Selene could only give Undine a look of pity or something akin to it. When he mentioned how she was a funny one and she could only give a sincere sigh at that comment. "Funny for others I suppose." She basically knew she often got odd stares sometimes and it was not because of Azi. "Sometimes she can be as dangerous as a jungle cat and then... This." She said with a sweep of her arm to show Undine who was currently running in a circle chasing her feather tail like she was a kitten. She then noticed she actually was opening up. What exactly was up with this guy. The only other person she opened up to was Azi... She was human and could relate to her. What the hell...
But before her mind could speculate to far she noticed that a smirk tugged at his lips. He mentioned it was a good morning to train and she after a moment noticed she was gripping her gun. "Oh..." She said after a moment. Remembering she had just been doing a childish training before this whole thing occurred. "I suppose it is. If one can find a spot like this." She said after a moment. She noticed he had picked up the sword he had been practicing with up from the earth and swung it back up over his shoulder. It then slammed into a locking holster in which the noise made Undine trip and nose dive into a few somersaults. With a small silent sigh and a look towards the heavens she felt the pain in which the bond made her feel but she wondered if it was also just because despite all 'red alerts' and reason to act like an idiot was over her drak continued to act like such. When in a dangerous situation or around others she acted this way. When they were alone or in said dangerous situations despite people she acted differently... It was such a strange thing.
From her location Undine noticed that Doevis was sniffing her again. Giving a gurgling like purr she just wiggled back and forth like a flower in the breeze. To which Selene gave a tiny closed eyed look of pain. Perhaps if this was a tactic she agreed on, was someone who thought draks were super adorable, or was someone who was flamboyant enough to go along with Undine she would not mind but this was to much for the lone wolf type woman. She really hoped that Undine grew out of it and soon or at least got another tactic... Formed a better one... Something... In an attempt to let the draks be draks she wanted to keep Undine out of the spotlight and hopefully keep her from ruining whatever so called decency she had left. If this drak was her bondmate her weirdness was basically suppose to be a mirror of her if she understood correctly. It was a distorted though of her old life of mystery. Not that she could explain that to everyone they crossed so with a tiny sigh she tried to grab Haedyn's attention despite being that loner. "So I assume being caged up is not for you either?" Meaning being stuck on the Hark: A-5 for so long hence being in the forest.

Jun 08 True Day Break.
Haedyn glanced about as Selene took note of his prime location for training. He had to agree the clearing was great, plenty of room for Doevis to lounge about while he did what he needed to stay in prime shape for his drak. He watched for a moment while Doevis finished snuffling the mage drak and then turned his nose back to where the remains of his kill her. He grumbled down deep in his belly, he was not stated yet. Looking down at the small Drak Doevis gave his body a good shake that caused his many spinney scales to clack together. Then nowerying his elongated nose horn he gave Undine a small nudge before turning to make his way back into the forest. He seemed to inviting Undine for some Drak training in the forest. He was also still hungry and their companions looked to be starting one of those annoying conversations.
Haedyn watched as his Drak trundled away but quickly returned to Selene as she assumed he wasn’t one for cages. “Not so much that,” He said with a genuine smile. He could see now that Selene was unhappy with the new settings still. But then again he was finding most of the humans were not all that happy with his kind. “Sure I believe the ship is a little tight, but at the same time, I would much rather be here than elsewhere. “ He gave a shrug, he found it hard to relate with her idea of Freedom though. He’d always been told go here do this and when and where, it was his life to do as others told him.
Looking at her he tilted his head and thought for a moment on her stance, the way she held her form, Military stature screamed out of this girl. “SO that is why your up so early. You feel like a caged animal still.” He didn’t truly know how right he was on that statement but still she as giving off the indicators for it. “You know whenever I need to vent I simply hack away at the nearest object. Ty… I mean Sceltyr has her flying. This life may not be easy, and I know I haven’t the right to say I understand how you and your own feel.” He paused there as social awkwardness fell back down on him like a ton of bricks. This is where he failed horribly as a commander, he was unable to relate to social normalcy’s.
His mouth clamped shut and he gave her a shy smirk. “I’m here to train though… would you like to practice some with me? Or did you have other intentions on our meeting here in the forest?” He asked unsure if she had simply stumbled on him or if she had some other motive behind finding him.

( WORDS ) 825 ( TAGGED ) Haedyn ( MUSE ) Here To her a location like this was indeed a prime location for many things. Training was just one of them. Relaxing was another one but obviously right now was not really a choice. She only really found herself relaxing when she was alone or with Azi. While she had more or less let her guard down with Haedyn she was not at the point of napping in a tree like she was with Azi. She took a moment to notice that Undine was being given a small nudge. Enough of one that she felt it and gave a curious look to see what caused it. Apparently from what was going on it seemed that her drak might be getting some training from the older drak. Ha... Well that was both interesting and helpful. Maybe when she came back she would end up with some extra skills or at least manners. A little bit of a heads against the others of her clutch and possible even the other group. She was not sure about the Lady Sceltyr letting her drak train the other draks but she allowed Undine follow Doevis and do their own thing.
At her mention of cages Haedyn seemed to agree he was not one for them either. He said it with a genuine smile. She gave a small rapid blink to that. It was rare to see an emotion that was not a harsh raw one these days. He continued to say that he believed the ship is a little tight but he rather be there than elsewhere. He had a point considering being back on earth was hardly a choice and she was not an expert on this lay of the land but she guessed the ship was the safest with the wildlife she was not used to. Still... He gave a shrug and she pondered if she should go into detail. He seemed like a military man... Someone in the military was used to not having freedom and often gave it up in order for the freedom of others however... Her lack of freedom went deeper than that. Was she exactly ready to let that information free or did she even have a choice? Was it on some document that he was already briefed on? As a human saved from death she did not have the luxury of secrets. She then noticed he was looking at her with a tilt in his head.
She was about to ask what in a defensive manner but then he basically answered her. Well most humans could likely simply be insomniacs or something but her stance likely gave her away but the fact she always woke up at this hour, was wide awake, and felt like a caged animal at this point likely made MILITARY stamp on her face. He then told her what he did and she frowned slightly. She wished she could hack at things but she unfortunately had her condition and also had a gun so it was shoot things. She needed to get herself a blade. He continued to say this life may not be easy and that he had no right to say he understand how she or humans felt. Before he paused. She felt a slight awkwardness fall between the two of them. Then he gave a shy smirk. He said he was here to train and asked if she would like to practice with him or did he have other intentions on meeting here in the forest. She rose her brow at that with a tilt of her head.
Well you are right in a sense... I am never free due to the military lifestyle I have lived and now continue to live however to be in the military usually has some sort of freedom or at least the choice to join. With humans at least... I cannot say I completely understand humans either... I am not a caged animal due to the military lifestyle but because I literally am an animal... Wolf genetics... She said taking advantage of the awkwardness. She then was silent for a few moments before looking up at the treeline. I actually came in this direction because the wind brought a scent that smelt familiar. I found out it was you and Doevis. Granted I will admit I lost myself on the way here with some odd training so I may as well continue. I have no plans on returning to the ship so soon. This... Is as close to freedom I can get. She said with a hint of forlorn to her voice. She then looked at him still with a raised brow. "By the way the way you worded that can be taken the wrong way. If it was not you I would have likely taken it the wrong way." She said as a last thought to keep things from turning into a pity party.
I'm tougher than nails I can promise you that Step out of line and you get bitch-slapped back A gun ready to blast It's the wild wild west and I'm fast cause I'm a badass |

Doevis led the smaller drak out a little ways into the woods, his nose snuffling about for nibbles as he went. He was always hungry it seemed, and Haedyn had a plethora of fun nick names for Doevis but he couldn’t help that he was so big. His golden eyes landed on Undine’s bright form and he considered what was best to teach a young mage firstly. He waited by a creek his long tail draped into the cool surface. Cocking his head to the side he lifted his one wing and realigned it along his back and shuffled his shoulders.
He couldn’t spare with the small female he would more than crush her frail wings, but at the same time there was no need teach her how to hunt or fish, all draks like their dragon cousins were born ready to take care of themselves. Further more he was uncertain on training her in their Aether spirits. Seeing as she was a water element and he a fire, it would be difficult… But he figured he may as well try.
A chortle rolled up his neck to spill past his teeth, as he tried to gain her attention. His long tail lifted and swept to encircle and entrap her path so she couldn’t run. His golden eyes focused and lifting his head issued a burst of short umber gold fire. Once he was finished her looked back at her and waited as if to say Now your turn. He wanted to see just how her fire manifested, most water elements had icy fire, it would freeze practically anything it touched. On the other hand some had scalding hot steam like fire breath power. All depending on her fire could he train her in the way he was thinking.
Meanwhile back in the clearing….
Haedyn was listening as she explained her emotions and confirmed her military background to him. He winced a bit when she explained how humans had a choice in the matter. He wasn’t really sure, but when he’d rode out on Earth, he’d seen little choice in the matter there either. None the less it was his Kinds fault the Humans were practically slave soldiers. However before he could respond Selene was rushing on and explaining her wolf genetics to him. His eyes grew curious as her explanation continued. He’d never heard of Genetic Splicing? But then again, this was the Science that humanity had developed to replace what Lantian’s used. Then again the ideas of them both made Haedyn’s mind a bit fuzzy.
Then her last statement rolled across and was almost missed but he caught her meaning none the less. He’d said something strange to her, it must have went right over his head though because he gave yet another shy smile and turned away from her to hide the awkwardness. He removed the bolted sword from his back again and started to work through his routine again. Only this time he moved with much more control and kept Selene’s position current in his mind as he moved.
“In Atlantis we have the choice to join or not to join, but I suppose for us it is different still, I never actually had the choice to join either.” He smirked and cut a golden glance her way. “But in the same moment, again I would have it no other way. I believe I am good at what I do, and the fates brought me to my place in this world. “ He sighed and paused. “I know that we stole you, but I sometimes wonder if your kind realize that what you left on Earth, it won’t stay there. The Neda will cross time space and any dimension, they are spreading and with no real pattern behind it” This statement clearly unsettled him. He was a strategist and yet still these bastards eluded his understanding in their battle patterns. “My only hopes is that this time… We, and that is All of us… will be able to stop them.”
He stopped talking for a few moments and did a couple strange acrobats with his sword flipping it and then finally once he was done the sword had been reassembled into what could only be a long range sniper rifle. “In the mean time… how about we go blow some shit up?” He asked with a cocky grin pulling his face, if this statement had been said to Tyr he knew she’d have knocked him senseless. The pyromaniac that Haedyn was peered at Selene through his golden eyes.

( WORDS ) 1128 ( TAGGED ) Haedyn ( MUSE ) None The glow worm mage looked up at the larger blade drak as they made their way into the woods. She watched as he sniffed about. She was not exactly sure why as she was not hungry in the least bit. She let her eyes wander about the woods before noticing that the larger drak's eyes had landed on her. She chirped in confusion not sure exactly why she was being looked at but did not make much more of a fuss about it. He was waiting by a creek so she made her way over to it. She looked as he cocked his head tot he side and lifted one wing and realigned it along his back. She noticed fishes dancing in the water but like before she was not hungry. She did not image she was being taught how to get food. She knew how to do that. Although it seemed he was going to attempt despite their aether difference to teach her how to use aether as their size difference made sparring more or less impossible without her being smashed.
At a chortle reaching her she turned from the fishes that caught her attention to him she noticed his tail lift and swept to keep her from running. Not that she planned on it but the action made her make a tiny noise of confusion again. Suddenly his golden eyes focused and a short umber gold fire came from his mouth. She watched before he looked at her and seemed to say it was her turn to do the same thing. She remembered making a fire when she hatched and she remembered Snapyre making one as well. Looking up and not looking at him she focused and opened her mouth letting a blue flame come from her. It gave off waves of coldness despite the flame appearance. She then looked at him again not sure what to do now. She was more towards the cold than the warm water type. Think liquid nitrogen, whatever it touched would freeze on contact, but at current it was to weak to do just that just yet.
Meanwhile back in the clearing…
Selene was not used to being listened to but then again she was not exactly used to talking a lot either. She noticed the wince. Perhaps there was a mixture in how there was a choice in the matter. To most humans perhaps they did not have a choice but to her she had a choice or rather it felt more like a choice. With her risk it was either be put down like the mutt she was or work for the military. To her working for the military seemed like it was for her. For most humans perhaps that was not the case but like she had said she was not exactly the best to know what went on with other humans. If only her father had not tried to compete with his brother... To go so far as to change names and try to be the top scientist... She almost wanted to sigh. Well as horrible as it was she knew he was likely rotting in the worst hell. Although the sad part was so was her poor mother...
It seemed at her mentioning his innocent but suggestive comment, he himself did not quite understand it, but it gained her another shy smile. He turned away from her to hide the awkwardness. She wanted to snort but it was already awkward to snort at one's higher up was not exactly the best thing to do. So she just waited until he felt comfortable enough to do something which did not take to long. He removed the bolted sword from his back again and started to work trough his routine again. He moved with much more control she noticed. It seemed he also kept her position in mind as well as to avoid injuring her. Although if he accidentally swung in her direction she would be sure to dodge.
Suddenly he started to speak. Silently she watched him and listened as he said they had a choice to join but he actually never had the choice either. That got him to smirk and him to glance his golden eyes her way. He however did not seem to regret it either. She could say the same thing but continued to be silent and listen. He however came to a point where he sighed and paused. He said he knew that they stole her but wondered if humans knew what they left on earth. He spoke of Neda and what they were doing. It seemed the Neda clearly unsettled him. She looked down slightly. I personally am not able to speak for anyone else but I personally do not care where I am. As long as I do what I always do and am able to be left to myself... Unless I like that person trying to get near my anyways. Seeing Azi was near her all the time it was a weird statement to say. But it was true she was basically a pawn. Place her somewhere, tell her to do something, and while it would be with a frown, she would do it with military intent.
He finished to say that his hope is that this time all of them would be able to stop the Neda. She was silent at that. An enemy that was not something easily stopped... It was going to take a lot of training and a lot of bonding and team work in order to do that. Obviously the humans were helpless more or less due to the lack of aether but properly trained and teamed up with the regrouped Lantians perhaps it would be possible. However at current they had awhile to go. Maybe were still in sleep and many were still in the process of getting their asses handed to them in one area or another in training. It would take awhile but if they were able to get their shit together it was not completely impossible.
After a moment of her deep thinking she noticed he had stopped talking and his strange acrobats with his sword caught her attention. He spoke again and said how about they blow some shit up. He asked her with a cocky grin. Despite being a water element she was not against blowing shit up. Only one problem. I have nothing to blow shit up with. She said with a look that could be considered Selene Amusement. Despite those golden eyes that were peering at her. She would have loved to have caused mayhem but without Undine she was unable to do anything unless he was able to help her out somehow.

Jun 08 True Day Break.
Doevis made a rumbling chuckle in his chest as the bright blue flame danced in the air from her tiny maw. It was cute to him in fact. He grumbled deeper in his chest in approval before snorting to blow dust up. He knew what he needed to teach the small water mage. Aether had it’s strengths and it’s weaknesses, and where water would normally trump fire, in this case Undine would lose if she tried to out magic him. However, this was not the only reason, even after she aged Undine would find it hard to go head to head against a brute like him. First of all she was a mage class therefore smaller, and slower on the ground than the blades. Doevis would be able to over take her in a moment if she was even an adult.
He stood and slide his scaly hide away from her careful not to catch her with his sharp scales. His bronze body turned to face the body and lowering his snout her made a grumbling chortle and spewed pure magma into the stream before his snout. Steam rose in a gush as the liquid fire broke the surface. At first the steam evaporated but in time the current overtook the liquid fire and swirling into, over and around it quickly cooled the magma into a rocky sluggish state. Doevis grumbled at this moment and looked at Undine. Trying to get across the idea that Even though he was much bigger strong and would surely win against her now, there were things she could do. He wanted to teach her evasion, and evasion defensive magic.
Stepping back and away from the stream he walked into the trees some ways from her and using his tail swept clear the underbrush wing a single sweep. Looking about the now clearing he grumbled approval and snorted for Undine to come her paired with a stomp of his right fore leg. Then he grumbled again deep in his stomach and once again spewed the magma from between sharp teeth.
Only this time there was no water to stop it’s progression and Doevis was helping it along, the small stream of liquid fire trailed across the ground like a single snake, sliding closer to Undine and catching small fires in its wake. Doevis grumbled at Undine and stomped his front half into the ground before shaking his head to free the stream from his mouth. The stream was now like a living thing under his control and would move toward her to strike at her unless she defended herself.
------
Haedyn found kinship in her ideas of being left to do as they please. Unfortunately the Cadets weren’t getting much of that lately. Hell between the long ass Lecture Tyr was giving them and the routines he himself was hammering into them they had little time to realize anything going on around them. The Naefell Academy shut the cadet’s away from the politics of Atlantis. For that he was grateful, as mixed feelings had began to churn in the Lindoni District. He shuddered to think if the rich had their way about matters.
He returned his attention to her after she replied in favor about not having anything to blow things up with he gave her a stern glare, “What do you mean you don’t have anything to blow things up with?” He laughed and his face melted away to the chaotic pyro. “I may be fire but I can teach you a thing or two about your own element. Water is just as capable of making Booms as Fire my sweet” He chuckled as he lay his gun along his shoulder and turned. “Lets go fishing.” He said and gave no room for refusal as he stride from his special clearing.
Vanishing into the underbrush Haedyn took a path he knew well, it’s curving windy way led away from their Draks but doubled back to a bend up river. If they looked they would notice Doevis leaving the river bank to take Undine to his new clearing for training.
Haedyn took a moment to peer into is Drak’s mind warning him to be careful with the hatchling. Doevis was rather large, and a bit feral, sometimes his training methods got a bit… sharp. Having a grumbled reply and shove from his Drak’s mind Haedyn’s golden eyes opened and he snow stood on a rock that peeked out above the river, small rapids jutted the river’s surface and slim shadows could be seen darting through the current there. “Ah fishing!” He said kneeling down to one knee pretty sure Selene had chosen to follow him. “Even though you have weapons now, your abilities can extend from outside of a weapon. It’s a little harder to do, but with practice and a little bit of understanding…“ He threw his right hand forward and snapped his finger a tiny pop sounded from beneath the surface an a small fish flew up. Haedyn caught the fish with his other hand and tossed it back on the back. A small seared burn along it’s underbelly clearly visable. “You will be able to make your very Aether ability a weapon and an extension of yourself…”
Selene would know already how to ‘Dive’ for her energy pool, so it make come as a surprise just how Easily Haedyn and Tyr both seemed to grasp their element. Looking back at the water he sighed. “Water is a very strong element, but it is also very calm, now if I’m correct your closer to an ice user than simple water. This is good… Ice when formed correctly can actually cause an implosion. All you need to learn is how to adjust the temperature just right, then Pow! You’ll have a burst of ice shards that can explode outward and force targets in the direction you want.” He wondered if she was following. He was only so knowledgeable on water benders because he’d had to command a whole fleet of fledglings one summer, lucky him they’d been all domestic water users who’d rather play pranks on their Fire elemental commander.
He shook his head and brought himself back to the matter at hand. “How well can you control your Aether so far?” He asked swiveling his perched position so that he sat on his heels and faced Selene in full. His hands clasped together while his elbows maintained his balance held on his knees.

( WORDS ) 1837 ( TAGGED ) Haedyn ( MUSE ) None Undine had given her fire breath a go. While she was a hatchling she did not exactly expect much. Nor did she exactly expect to impress the older teen. So when Doevis made a rumbling chuckle in his check at her blue flame as it dance din the air from her tinier maw she was not insulted. She kind of expected it. If it came form someone her own clutch she may have been a little less forgiving seeing she would have liked see better but she wanted to learn seeing obviously this teen knew more than her. It seems despite his amusement it still got some sort of approval before he snorted to blow dust up. She was not sure what that was about but just continued to watch assuming he had something else next in mind. She was not exactly sure what he was thinking. She figured he was simply thinking up the next thing to test her with or what to take from her show of fire and work it into some sort of training. So she just waited until he was finished.
He slide away from her and seemed to be careful not to catch her within his sharp scales. His bronze body turned to face the body of the steam. She turned herself looking much like a snake in the process but eyes much like a curious cat. He then grumbled and sprwed pure magma into the stream. Stream rose into a gush as the liquid fire broke the surface. At first the water of the stream evaporated but in time the current overtook the liquid fire and it swirled into, over, and around it. Turning the magma into a rocky sluggish state. Doevis grumbled at this moment and looked at her. She supposed he was trying to explain that despite his size and even if she was bigger there were things that she could do to protect herself to at least evenly match herself against the blade type and himself. Defense magic it seemed would be the lesson along with evasion.
He stepped back and away from the stream they had been focusing on. He walked into the trees. He was a decent distance away from her. He used his tail to make room for himself. It seemed it also meant room for her as well as he snorted for her to come. She went to go over but then he grumbled again as he once again spewed magma from within. Only this time there was no water to stop it's progression towards her and Doevis seemed to be helping it along. The fire worked like a snake and soon he shook his head freeing the stream from his mouth. It was now heading for her like a living thing under his control. It seemed she needed to figure out how to defend herself. Her first thought was to make a wall of ice but she doubted she had enough aether within herself to actually do something like that. While she was mostly colder than warmer in the water spectrum she had been able to make the ice less damaging she wondered at the risk of herself if she could change the temperature to something lower so it used less aether but still could stop the magma. Doing what the stream did.
After a moment she dodged out of the way due to it reaching dangerously close to her in her thoughts. She then thought that if she just made a wall the snake like magma would simply move around it and it would have been a waste of aether anyways. So perhaps if she tried to do what he was doing? She was not sure if she would be able to do that. Suddenly she had the idea to make her way to the side of the stream. Perhaps it was cheating but it was evasion training too right? True it would follow her but she hoped it would. With water nearby she would not need to actually use as much aether creating water she would just need to change what she already had. When the magma snake was close enough to made a small tsunami out of the steam water before using her fire to turn it to ice. She had no idea if she caught the magma or if it would break free but it was something and it did not completely deplete her aether.
------
Selene figured despite her lack of knowledge of all the other humans that she figured she was not the only one who wished for a little more freedom. Not that she was about to pretition anything or was she about to go around asking if they felt the same way. She knew military always had reason for what they did but it did not help those who did not want to do it accept it and even among those who did it willing accept it for long if they did not get at least a break or some freedom for a moment. Although this was not your run of the mill war she gathered so perhaps it was not something that allowed for such a luxury... Little did she know about the royalty and such of the Lantian culture. She seemed to notice a shudder but did not bother to ask.
She gained a stern glare at not having anything to blow things up with. His face melted away to the chaotic pyro as he asked her want did she mean and he said he may be fire but he could teach her a thing or two about her own element. She then made a face at being called my sweet Taken by surprise she actually gave a small "huh?" Although knowing him he would likely take it as due to what he said in regards to her element not the nickname he used on her. She then in a confusion said, "What part of me is sweet?" He chuckled as he laid his gun along he shoulder. He then randomly said lets go fishing. He gave her no room for refusal and with a baffled look she assumed he got that from Tyr. She then simply followed, there was something about this guy that was able to bring out an odd side of her... Being taken to another special clearing she followed him easily following him due to the genetics flowing in her.
Selene paused at Haedyn seemed to take a moment to do something. She figured it had to do with Doevis and less with stopping to smell the roses but did not bother to ask. When his golden eyes opened he stood on a rock. She watched as he peeked above the river. She looked at it and noticed slim shadows of fish. Well she could honestly say she had never seen a river this clean before. He seemed to be enjoying himself as he gave a small cheerful call to the action of fishing. He kneeled down on one knee. He explained that aether could extend outside a weapon, it was harder to do, but with practice and a little bit of understand it... Then he paused, he then showed her as a tiny pop sounded from under the surface as a small fish flew up. Haedyn caught the fish with his other hand and tossed it on it's back. Selene noticed a seared burn along it's underbelly. He continued to say that he could make Aether a weapon an extension of yourself. She already knew how to dive into her energy pool but she remembered what that Mei had said... So she never did without her gun.
She did not mention it as he continued to talk about how water is a very strong element but also very calm. He guessed right as he said she was closer to an ice user than simple water. He then said that is good. He then said ice when formed correctly can actually cause an implosion. It was about adjusting the temperature just right then pow. She made a small frown as she remembered Mei again and her voice was nagging her in the back of head head despite the fact she was indeed listening. He shook his head and then asked how well can she could control her Aether so far. He swiveled so he sat on his heels and faced her in full. She sighed. "Well I can if that is the question... It is just that stupid hatchling guardian made some note not to play to much with it or I could die so I have not exactly been playing with it much unless I have my gun so I can make sure I do not do anything to crazy... I mean I can do things like this..." After a moment she closed her eyes.
Something she did not do unless she was alone or with someone she trusted. Suddenly water appeared in her palm, after a moment she forced it into a shape, with more effort she froze it and it froze into the shape she wanted it to. Then with a look on her face she sighed. "A bit against my personality..." She said looking at the frozen flower. She then did what he said ice could do and let it implode in her palm. The only issue was that she was not exactly positive to how she did it. She did not read endlessly like some. She had help from Undine who had a natural grasp on it. That and just practice practice practice. Granted it led her to be extremely tired. She figured it was cause she was human so she was not going to be building ice sculptures anytime soon or at all. She supposed if it was not being cocky she was more powerful than a unbonded Lantian but a bonded Lantian... Even the timid Ceres was much stronger than her due to the natural Aether they possessed.
Note: I am not sure if Undine or Selene is overstepping the Aether so I winged it so let me know if I should back it up a bit or not.
