About This Page: This page contains information on the Drakian race, a cousin race of dragons. Every Cadet who enters the Naefell Academy receives a copy of this book after their nest Event. It has page after page of information on the Draks and will help you understand how to better play/take care of your drak. Be sure to read up on each Breed Class of Drak in order to obtain the proper Drak hatch-ling for your character.

General Information
History:
Long, long ago, probably around the same time Earth was in its prehistoric era; Atlantis came to a world known as Lynohast. Where magic [aether] ran wild and the races of the world, being both primitive and beautiful, could wield the various forms of it natuarlly. In many ways this world was very similar to Aerdis. But Lynohast had dragons and so many different kinds of them! They ranged from enormous dragons who could speak any language and horded treasures; to tiny little dragons with dragonfly wings that knew only how to chirp and sing. When the Lantians first came to this world they were thought to be Elves. Because of this, they gained access to several breeds of dragon that the Elves used as mounts. The Lantians saw potential in these winged beasts that could fly, walk the lands and swim the waters of Atlantis with ease. They were strong, valiant and loyal to their companions. But they were still very feral and lacking the ability to use more than Fire Aether in most breeds. So the Lantian's using their knowledge of evolutionary development hatched a plan.
Many years were spent in selective breeding with large dragons, small dragons, song bird dragon, scaled, feathered winged and even no winged; nearly every breed had a trait or characteristic they wanted to use. Until three base classes were established. The first of the shield, blade and mage classes were nothing like they are today. They were much larger and more like wild dragons that had to be tamed. No soul bond was formed in the early years of the Drakian race. Bonding only came about after the Lantians had returned to Aerdis and worked toward perfecting the Classes. In the current era the Drak Breeds still show dominant traits that root them back to common ancestors.
The Birds and Bees of Draks
--When Draks are wild they do not need to consume shards to grow naturally between evolutionary stages. Bonded Draks must consume shards to evole because of the ritual performed on their eggs after they were collected. This ritual stunts not only their natural growth, but also their aether pool's growth. This must be done to protect Cadets from being over whelmed by a Drak's natural pool growth which in wild draks grows in large jumps. In the past breeding Bonded Draks from the AWF was banned due to the fact that Female Draks reverted to a feral state while protecting their nests, and Males rutted (fought) whenever they had the chance regardless of their bond mate's control on them. So the High Council of Atlantis ruled that the Sealing Ritual add to the spell that their gender specific hormones would be dampered. No Drak can breed in other words though Draks may still fancy one another.
So where to the Eggs Come From?
--Eggs are collected from Feral Drak nests all around Aerdis' many continents and islands. The most popular place to collect Drak eggs though it guarded by the Kabits and Wild Draks both in the Saric Canyon. Teams are assembled, normally three to five Bonded pairs specializing in Scouting, to collect eggs and return them to Atlantis, the eggs are not given up willingly as Feral Draks are just that, they are wild beasts and attack any who come close. The only reason Bonded Draks are companionable is from their time spent in the egg under the Sealing Ritual surrounded by Aether Crystal.
● Wild Draks normally produce Four eggs per nest due to their slowed
● Nests normally have 25 eggs collected for each Tree in the Hatchery Orchard.

Lifespan:
Draks will live for up to five hundred years if they are not mortally wounded or starved to death. Once bonded to a Drak, a bond-mate will share in those years. However, if either Drak or bond-mate die so will the other.
● Hatch-lings:
After an egg is hatched, the drak will remain a hatch-ling until enough shards are consumed to bring the drak up to the next stage. As a hatch-ling, flight is limited and clumsiness abound from their proportions constantly growing. Every time a hatch-ling consumes shards it will sleep for 4 solid hours. Upon waking, it will be slightly larger and the scales will shed to reveal more hardened scales beneath. It will also have a large appetite upon waking so be prepared with food!
● Adolescent:
After consuming 400 shards your drak will turn into an adolescent. Enormous wings, in comparison to the body, will allow for full flight times. However, graceful flight will not be reached until the adult stage so be prepared for a few crash landings! During this stage the wings, horns, spikes and quills are weaker as the scales shed once a week, requiring constant care and oiling. Have care as the scales and teeth are the toughest asset during this stage.
● Adult Form:
After consuming 1000 shards a Drak will obtain its adult form. After this they will no longer grow and their scales are as tough as they’re going to get. Upon reaching the adult stage of life, they are more likely to roost in the branches of the Arc Tree than to stay in the common/dorm area with their bond mate.

A NOTE ON SHARDS & DRAKS GROWING
In-Story your drak may grow in small bursts of speed as time passes, however to evolve from a hatch-ling to an adult they must consume shards. Shards are earned through posting in the in-story threads and, in essence, our characters are feeding their money to their Draks to get them to grow. Once you've earned enough shards to evolve your drak go to the BOTTOM LEFT of the Screen and click the Shopping Cart, then purchase the evolution (teen/adult) item. --After that you need to post HERE! with a simple note saying your evolving. Inkz will take care of the rest.
EVOLUTION TO TEEN COSTS 400 SHARDS // EVOLUTION TO ADULT COSTS 1000 SHARDS
All IN-STORY Posts gain shards, starting a NEW THREAD earns you 15 Shards while replying will earn you 10 Shards.
